Public Notice
Public notice is hereby given that on March 18, 2025 at 5:15pm, a public hearing will be held by the Carmi City Council at the Carmi City Council Chambers located at 225 E Main Street, Carmi, IL, for the purpose of considering the 2025 budget and appropriation ordinance in accordance with the Illinois Municipal Budget Law, 50 ILCS 330/1.
Copies of the tentative budget and appropriation ordinance will be available for public inspection at www.cityofcarmi.org/budget beginning February 14, 2025. Alternative arrangements for obtaining copies may also be made by calling the City Clerk’s Office at 618-384-2001.
Citizens attending the hearing shall have the right to provide written and oral comments and ask questions concerning the budget and appropriation ordinance.

The FY 2025 appropriated budget for the City of Carmi and Carmi Light and Water is $26,048,854 (Ordinance No. 1656 – Approved March 18, 2025).
