The Carmi Chamber of Commerce is once again planning its annual Lighted Christmas parade to welcome Santa to White County. The parade is planned to begin at 5:30 pm on November 26, 2022.
The Carmi Chamber of Commerce is once again planning our Lighted Christmas parade to welcome Santa to White County! It is scheduled to begin at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, November 26th, 2022. NO FEE TO ENTER. CASH PRIZE FOR 1ST & 2ND PLACE!
There is no specific theme for It’s a White County Christmas, so just get creative with how you show your holiday spirit! Just make sure it lights the way for Santa, as we will be officially welcoming him to Carmi at the end of the parade. With that said, we would ask that Santa not be part of your entry. We encourage all businesses, churches, youth organizations, or schools throughout White County to join us to celebrate Christmas in this lighted parade!
Floats and walking units of all sizes are welcome to join in the fun! Your entries do not have to be elaborate. Decorated golf carts/razors (street legal and registered with the city of Carmi), church choirs walking through caroling, bands- any of these would be a great addition to this year’s parade. Please note, candy must be handed out by those walking and cannot be thrown.
The parade route and line up information will be sent to you should you choose to participate. Final details will be emailed to everyone submitting this entry form, on our website, and publicized through the local media. Please, come join us!

Additionally, the Carmi Chamber of Commerce would like to announce the return of their annual Christmas contests that are happening as well. The Christmas Decorated Storefront Contest and the Merry & Bright Christmas Light Home Decorating Contest are accepting entry forms until November 23, 2022.
Also, a reminder to anyone that is hosting a public Christmas event to please forward the Carmi Chamber any events that you would like publicized for It’s a White County Christmas to [email protected] or by calling (618)382-7606. This is for events all over White County.
