The Carmi Chamber of Commerce Annual Golf Tournament was played on August 20, 2022, at the Carmi Country Club.
Proceeds from the annual golf tournament benefit the Chamber’s scholarship program, member grant program, business startup grants, and the White County CEO program.
Morning and afternoon teams were treated to sunny skies, dotted with the occasional cloud throughout the day, and warm temperatures. Whether the teams played in the morning or afternoon, each golfer received a sleeve of golf balls provided by tournament Gold Sponsor- First Bank, along with some swag at Hole 6 from one of the Hole in One Sponsors – Huck’s Market, and were also provided with lunch, prepared by Gottzz’s.
After score cards were turned in the winners of the day were announced as follows: First Place was awarded to the team of Matt Lamont, Jessica Lamont, Carlin Smock, and Jake Smock, second place honors went to the team of Kevin Wolff, Mark Stendeback, Drew Riley, and Bennett Richter, and Third Place to the team of Chuck Ashford. And, while no one was lucky enough to win the $10,000 Hole-in-One prize, there were other contest winners. The Closest to the Pin prize was presented to Kenny Carter, while Longest Putt prize went to Joe Woodring. Men’s Long Drive honors went to Mark Stendeback and Women’s Long Drive to Jeannie Large.
A special “Thank You” to this year’s sponsors. A list of the sponsors can be found at cityofcarmi.org under Chamber events.
“The chamber is so very appreciative of the support we receive from our sponsors and players. We would not be able to invest in the community through our scholarship and grant programs without their continued support.” stated Kelly Northcott of the Carmi Chamber of Commerce.
