The third week of It’s a White County Christmas beings on November 28 with a Christmas Shopping Stroll. “We want to encourage individuals to shop Carmi first during the holiday season and this weekend is no exception. We have a variety of retailers that offer the perfect Christmas gifts for your friends and family,” noted Chamber Director Holly Healy. On November 29, Small Business Saturday, Healy again asks that local residents consider Carmi merchants before heading out of town to shop.
Saturday, November 29, beings with a Biscuit and Gravy and Pancake Breakfast at the First United Methodist Church from 6 am – 10 am. The White County Historical Society Museums will be open from 10 am. – noon. A craft and vendor show will take place at the Farm Bureau and Elk’s Lodge from 9 am – 3pm.
The highlight of the weekend will be the Frozen Wonderland Lighted Christmas parade, which beings at 6 p.m. Santa will be officially welcomed to Carmi during the parade. The Christmas parade will be immediately followed by the Tree Lighting in Veteran’s Park.
Following the Tree Lighting, families will have the opportunity to purchase photo packages with Santa from Green Man Design Studio, a member of the Carmi Chamber of Commerce. Photo packages are optional are not required to see Santa.
