An Ordinance Regarding Electric Cost Adjustment
Be it ordained by the Mayor and the City Council of the City of Carmi as follows:
Ordinance 1526 for the City of Carmi is amended as follows:
Electric Cost Adjustment:
The Electric Cost Adjustment is to be calculated every six (6) months for all rate classes and
presented to the City Council for approval at the second August meeting and the second
February meeting each year.
The Council will approve the cost adjustment in the form of a resolution which will be presented
to the Carmi Light and Water Office Manager to be applied to billing. The resolution should
include the current cost adjustment, proposed cost adjustment, and the percentage of the
proposed increase/decrease.
In the event of a natural disaster, or unforeseen damage/expenses to the City of Carmi utilities
and/or Light Plant, either the Mayor or two (2) Council may request the cost adjustment to be
figured and presented to the City Council for review and approval during a regular City Council
meeting.
Effective Date:
This ordinance is effective thirty days following approval, passage and publication.
